Coffee is my groove. I’ve worked as a barista and I love preparing beautiful, vibrant coffees. I often find myself doodling coffee related drawings and dreaming of my own coffee shop designs. On my bucket list you can find : Design my own coffee product brand. By this I mean the visual looks of cups, coffeepackages, logo and all things related. Added to that my head of a product designer, well.. I’ll design it all from head to toe. This is my humble logo design based on my deep love for coffee.

I designed and made this stool/side table as a school work in 2014. Geometric shapes fascinate me and I wanted to bring those exciting forms into this product to make it more than a regular every home furniture. Its function is ordinary but why not look extraordinary? Photographing this piece was a lot of fun with all the different angles that can be found. Shape X is made out of apple and birch wood and it stands on a steel foot. The texture of apple wood is lively, even wavy, what brings a proper contrast to the black angular steel foot.

Nordic Tropic is a project dedicated to Stockholm Furniture Fair 2016. Nordic Tropic’s roots reach all the way back to spring 2015 when we started to plan our journey. Almost a year after, in January 2016 our team’s products traveled to Stockholm. Besides the process with my own product, a wardrobe with a lightweight appearance and a little twist added to it, I worked with my group to make this project successful. My field was Graphic side of the project and my responsibilities included visual image of the project, such as logo and product catalog. I composed the final logo in collaboration with other visual team members. The color theme for the project was generated with part of our visual group.
Our Stockholm Furniture Fair team collected funds to cover the costs of the project. This coloring calendar was on sale in PUF-designshop. Illustration & typography - me, layout & style of months - me & Miro Lappalainen. Used techniques // Hand drawing + Adobe Illustrator + Photoshop + InDesign.
